Biography--

Robert L. Jeffries, 82, of Waterloo, formerly of Underwood, Minnesota, died at Rosewood Estate of Friendship Village, on Sunday March 15, 2015.

Robert was born on September 13, 1932 in Waterloo, son of Glen and Grace (Duff) Jeffries.

He graduated from Orange High School in 1950 and attended Iowa State.

Robert married Ernestine Badgley in 1954. She died in 1991. He married Maxine "Maggie" Krueger in 1991, and she died in October 2014.

He joined the US Navy in 1953 and served during the Korean War.

Robert worked as a farmer on the family farm south of Waterloo before retiring in 1994.

In his retirement, Robert loved to fish, golf, taking care of wildlife near his home, and he enjoyed working with his hands. If something was broken, he could fix it.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Deb) Jeffries of Waterloo, Iowa, and Tony Jeffries of Detroit, Oregon; granddaughter, Elizabeth Jeffries of Urbana, Illinois; grandson Benjamin (Nancy) Jeffries of Lamoni, Iowa; great‑grandson Kaden Jeffries; brothers: Glen (Sherry) Jeffries of La Porte City, Iowa, Jim (Peggy) Jeffries of Traer, Iowa, and Dale (RaeJean) Jeffries of Waterloo, Iowa; and sisters Ellen (Mike) Rogers of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mary Lou (Ron) Carlson of Victor, Idaho.

Robert was preceded in death by: his parents and a brother, Richard Jeffries.
