Virginia Suiter, 89, of Friendship Village died at Covenant Medical Center on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
She was born January 12, 1926 in Waterloo, the daughter of Howard G. & Kitty A. (Moothart) Morris. She married Richard F. Suiter, on Sept. 26, 1948 in Waterloo, he died July 9, 2009.
Virginia graduated from Janesville High School in 1944. She worked for John Deere PEC for 23 years, retiring on Feb. 28, 1982. She was a member of Hammond Avenue Brethren Church. Virginia served as past Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star. She played the piano and loved to sing. She was in the choir at her church and in the Friendship Village choir, Village Voices.
Virginia was a straight forward lady, she loved to laugh and tell stories. She and Richard traveled all over the United States. Virginia treasured her grandchildren. She showcased her creativity in needlework and in making elaborately-themed cakes for everyone’s birthday.
She is survived by: a son, Mark (Teri) Suiter of Waterloo; Seven grandchildren and Seven great-grandchildren
Virginia was preceded in death by: Parents; husband; a son, Lee; two brothers, Robert and Elmer Morris; a sister, Evelyn Zabel; a daughter-in-law, Pam; a nephew, Jack Zabel
