Biography--

Joanna N. Schwickerath, 79, of Waterloo, died at UnityPoint Health -- Allen Hospital, on Monday April 20, 2015.

She was born on November 08, 1935, in Iowa City. Joanna graduated high school and went on to receive an Associate’s Degree from Hawkeye Community College. She taught classes in cake decorating, painting and microwave cooking courses.

Joanna was member of Waterloo First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: a son, John (Kathie) Ohrt of Waterloo; a daughter, Janice (Eugene) VanDeest of Plover, Iowa; a daughter, Carol (George) Clark of Evansdale; a sister, Virginia Smith of Paris, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; and by 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Anne Maria Ohrt; and a great-grandson, Dominick Lamar Ohrt.
