Eldon was born September 4, 1923, in Waterloo, the son of Leonard and Julia Klaus Priebe. He married Jean Williamson June 22, 1947, in Waterloo.

He grew up in Waterloo and graduated from East High in 1943. He was a past Deacon and Elder at First Presbyterian Church, Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, and member of Waterloo Elks #290. Eldon enjoyed the outdoors and particularly fishing trips with family and friends, many years in Canada. He was an “all around good guy” always positive and with a smile, enjoyed music going back to his high school days playing the trombone in the band, and loved animals with family pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks and Mary’s horses.
