Biography--

Dolores Lee, 86, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at the New Hampton Nursing & Rehab Center, New Hampton, Iowa on Friday, July 31, 2015.

Dolores Berniel Hansen was born August 23, 1928, in Waterloo, the daughter of Alvin and Marian Wilcox Hansen.

She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from West High School in 1946 and attended Murray, Kentucky State Teachers College for 2 years.

She married William D. Lee on May 28, 1948 in La Porte City; Iowa. Bill died May 25, 2001. Dolores worked as the office manager for Dr. Melville Finkelstein for many years, starting in 1983.

Bill and Dolores were active in the Waterloo AMVETS Post #19. She was active in the auxiliary and served as president four times and helped with all the activities at the Post.

She is survived by three sons: Darrol Lee of Minneapolis; Dan (Margaret) Lee of Waterloo; and Tom (Kathy Boyd) Lee of Denver, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Jim Christensen, Katie Lee, and Andy (Bianca) Lee; and 6 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie and Caleb Christensen and Deja, CiCi, Penelope and Layla Lee. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill.
