Biography

Beverly Blanche Edgerton Ellison, 88, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

Beverly was born July 8, 1927 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Page and Martha Louise Sackett Edgerton. She married Maynard Ellison August 23, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died June 30, 2014.

During the depression Beverly worked on a ranch in Arizona and during World War II she worked at the Hinson Manufacturing factory making military equipment. Beverly had worked for John Deere, H & R Block, and Larkin & Krizek Accounting. She and her husband started Ellison Tax Service and were partners from 1968 until 1995.

She was a Charter Member of Grace Brethren Church, now Grace Fellowship Church. Being around family, and cooking homemade recipes for them, was very important to Beverly. She was famously known for her cinnamon rolls. She also loved gardening, quilting, embroidery, running, and playing tennis which she did until she was 82.

Survivors include a daughter Diane Zey and her husband Randy of Cedar Falls; a son John Ellison and his wife Roxana of Luther; a daughter-in-law Paula Logendyke and her husband Jim of Golden Valley, Minnesota; five grandchildren: Letisha (Christopher) Murray, Sunni (Drew) Richmond, Amy Provost, Timothy (Lacey) Ellison, and Mikaela Ellison; seven great grandchildren: Gabe, Elli, Noah, Lily, Amelia, Annabelle, and Arianna.

She is also survived by three sisters: Elizabeth Ebers of Mexico, Missouri; Kay Zarifis of Temple City, California, and Faith Edgerton of Vandalia, Missouri, and two sisters-in-law: Ramona Edgerton and Doris Randall both of Waterloo.

Beverly is preceded in death by a son Sonny Ellison, grandson Kyle Zey, brothers: Robert P. Edgerton and Frank P. Edgerton Jr. sisters: JoAnn Randall, Martha Berends, and Mary Cole.
