WATERLOO - Marjorie Lucille Boehm, 88, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.
She was born in Klinger on March 18, 1926, daughter of Edward and Eleanor Eickelberg Hesse. She married Raymond Mischnick; he died in February 1952. She later married Elmer Boehm on May 19, 1963.
Marjorie attended Readlyn High School and had worked as a house parent for the Lutheran Children’s Home in Illinois. After moving to Waterloo she worked as a cashier at an insurance company, and had been an Avon representative. She was a member of Immanuel Church Choir, Waterloo Mother’s Chorus and of the Dorcas Society.
Survived by her husband; a son, Mark (Marge) Mischnik of Chamberlain, S.D.; a daughter, Mary (Peter) Stewart of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Miriam (Chris) Navurskis of Hinckley, Ill., Matthew (Sarah) Mischnick of McFarland, Wis., Michal (Sam) Needham of Vermillion, S.D., Kelli Dixon of Houston and Clinton Dixon of Austin; and 11 great-grandchildren, Mark, Nathanaiel, Claire, Anna, Kathryn, Ethan, Jonah, Seth, Ruth, Julia and Ezekiel.
Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Virgil (Lois) Hesse; a sister, Verona (Vern) Hines; and a son, Timothy Boehm.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visiation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.
Memorials in lieu of flowers: may be directed to the church.
