Mrs. Gladyce M. Kessell

Services for Mrs. Gladyce M. Kessell, 67, of 226 Reed St., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church.

She died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Memorial Hospital of a heart attack.

She was born February 9, 1908, in Reinbeck, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Theresa Schmidt Ohrt. She married Harold J. Kessell on August 3, 1935, in Waukegan, Illinois. She was employed as a secretary at McElroy Auditorium, retiring in 1970.

Survivors include a son, Steven J., of 2235 Lincoln St., Cedar Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanne Koontz of 3316 Santa Maria Dr.; and two brothers, Harry Ohrt of Gladbrook, and Clarence Ohrt of 1921 Pin Oak Dr., Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968.

The family suggests memorials may be given to Calvary United Methodist Church in her name. Friends may call at the Chapel of Memories West after 11 a.m. Friday.
