CEDAR FALLS - Cyrus S. “Cy” Bartine, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born June 5, 1922, in Oacoma, S.D., son of Cyrus R. and Roxy N. Mooney Bartine. He married Barbara Seabury. She preceded him in death. He then married Marlys Hundley Niederhauser.

Cy graduated from Clemons High School in 1939, attended Iowa State University, and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in 1951. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He then worked for Chrysler Corporation as a District Sales Manager for four years, owned and operated Bartine Motors in Cedar Falls for 18 years, and worked part-time for Richardson Funeral Service for 26 years. He was past President of the Cedar Falls Lions Club and served as Chairman of the Cedar Falls Parks Commission for 14 years.

Survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; a son, Lee (Teri) of Ames; four daughters, Sondra (Mark) McCain of Lady Lake, Fla., Michelle (Gary) Wiele of Ankeny, Holly (Tadd) Cline of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Samantha (Joel) Snodgrass of Janesville; 13 grandchildren, Amy (Matt) Olson, Chris (Jane) Bartine, Seth (Danielle) Kleinschrodt, Barbara (Hien) Nguyen, Ben (Amanda), Hannah, Rachel, Jesse and Micah Wiele, Courtny (Dustyn) Howard, Brett Cline, Emily and Spencer Snodgrass; and nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Preceded by four brothers, John G., Donald, Charles A. and Edwin W. Bartine; and two sisters, Lois Shives and Louise Wagner.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial in the Clemons Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post No. 49.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
