WATERLOO, IOWA - Marlys Marie Gosse, 69, of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 10, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born May 9, 1946, in Aitkins, Minnesota, daughter of Chris and Marlys Geyer. She married Dale Gosse Sr. on October 5, 1987, in Elk Point, South Dakota; he died in 1998.

Marlys received her GED from Hawkeye Community College. She worked at Yellow Cab in Waterloo for eight years, the Waterloo Courier for nine years and was a caregiver for three years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Cedar Falls.

Survived by: her fiancé, Russell Miller of Waterloo; two sons, Gary (Sandy) Gates and Chris Uhlenberg, both of Waterloo; a daughter, Cynthia (Tony) Woodward of Cedar Falls; four stepchildren, Chalynne Kral, Brandi Miller (Mark) and Janet Patterson, all of Waterloo, and Lawrence Miller of Cedar Falls; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Ronald Gates Jr.; and a brother, David Snyder.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, where visitation begins at 11 a.m., followed by cremation and inurnment at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
