CEDAR FALLS -- Bernice E. Gibson, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of Oliver and Clema Hendersen Weese. She married Donald R. Gibson on Dec. 26, 1948, in Akron; he died Feb. 8, 2014.

Bernice received her bachelor's degree from the University of Akron and was a member of PEO Chapter GQ.

Survived by a son, Donald R. “Buzz” Jr. (Cynthia) of Evergreen, Colo.; two daughters, Kathryn S. (David Beaty) Duke of Cedar Falls and Margaret E. (Philip) Mann of Chesapeake, Va.; and eight grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Walter Fair; and a sister, Evelyn Laub.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with entombment at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. Visitation from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and an hour before services Saturday at the church.
