Maxine Merical Hunt was born February 23, 1919 to George and Ethel Merical. She died peacefully at the New Homestead Care in Guthrie Center, IA on February 26, 2013.

Maxine married Wendell Henry Hunt on June 27, 1940 at Earlville, IA. They had four children. They farmed near Adel for many years then she moved to Waukee in 2000.

She was an active member of the UMW at her church. She enjoyed playing her guitar, gardening, her family and many friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mrs. Doris Clark and Mrs. Opal Stajcar; her brothers, Floyd, Benny, Darrell, and Jack; and grandson, Gary Hunt.

Surviving are her children, Larry (Josie) Hunt of Morro Bay, CA, Bonnie Hunt of Adel, Mary Lou Hunt of Cedar Falls, and George (Charlotte) of Guthrie Center; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at the United Methodist Church in Waukee, with burial at Walnut Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Waukee or the New Homestead Care Center of Guthrie Center.
