WATERLOO – Michael L. Hippen, 64, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 9, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Adolph and LaVae Staley Hippen.

Michael graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1970. He worked as a security guard for St. Francis and Covenant hospitals and also for the National Guard Armory.

Survived by his mother of Waterloo; two brothers, Timothy of Waterloo and Paul (Crescent) of Mason City; and five sisters, Peggy Clowser of Lead, S.D., and Colleen Gates, Charlene (Marvin) Surly, Carlene Hippen and Teresa (Rodney) Siebrands, all of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Ronnie Dinzy.

Public visitation: 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street.
