Jack Fogle, 72, of 129 Chestnut St., in an attempt to board a train that was in motion at Rawlins, Wyo., fell Sunday morning and died instantly, according to word received here.

Mr. and Mrs. Fogle were en route to Waterloo from Pacoima, Calif., where they were visiting their daughter, Mrs. Earl Fry. Mr. Fogle stepped off the train at Rawlins to have a cigarette and when the train started to move he tried to get on board, but fell to his death.

Jack Fogle was born Feb. 13, 1881*, at Leaf River, Ill. On Jan 30, 1908. He married Edith Morris at Waterloo, where they have always made their home.

He was employed for 44 years by the Illinois Central Railroad, retiring in April, 1951. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters: Mrs. Fry, Mrs. Marian Boyington, 15 Lobdell Rd., Castle Hill; Mrs. Harold Spears, 317 Sherwood Dr., and Mrs. Harold Day, 811 Riehl St.; also nine grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, all of Illinois.

The body will be brought to the Locke Funeral Home where funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral services for Jack Fogle, 72, of 129 Chestnut St., will be Saturday at 2 p. m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. H. E. Dierenfield officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Fogle fell to his death Sunday morning, when he attempted to board a train, which was in motion, at Rawlins, Wyo.

The body will be taken from Locke Funeral Home to the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The casket will not be opened at any time.
