Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Memories West for Arnold (Bud) Freese, 43, of 1704 Liberty Ave., who was dead of a heart attack on arrival at St. Francis Hospital at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call from 8 p.m. Thursday until service time at the Chapel of Memories West.

He was born Oct. 8, 1928 at Wellsburg, the son of Riebke and Effie Dieken Freese. He married Doris Holton in Mitchell, S. D. He was graduated from high school at Holland. He had worked at the Rath Packing Co. for the past 25 years. He was a Methodist and was active in Boy Scout work.

Survivors are his wife, three sons: Michael of Oskaloosa; Mark and David of 1704 Liberty Ave.; his father, Reibke Freese of Steamboat Rock; five brothers: John of Eldora; LeRoy of 2421 W. 3rd St., Cedar Falls; Arthur, Richard, and Floyd all of Dike; five sisters: Mrs. Gladys Van Langan of Steamboat Rock; Mrs. Irene Harms of Grundy Center; Mrs. Esther Purvis of Eldora; Mrs. Ethel Rhoads of Grundy Center; and Mrs. Julie Ugulini of Bondurant.

He was preceded in death by his mother and by two sisters, Ruth and Rosemary.

Friends who wish may give memorials to the Boy Scouts of America.

Richard Paulus, associate pastor of First United Methodis Church, officiating. Burial wil be in Garden of Memories. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time. Mr Freese died of a heart attack at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital.
