Funeral services for James Jackson, 56, of 338 Halstead St., who died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital of emphysema, will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Payne AME Church.

He was born July 13, 1915, in San Antonio, Tex., the son of James and Olitha Jackson. He had been a resident of Waterloo for 54 years.

He married Wilma Micou in 1937 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death in 1944. He then married Arlene Glover in 1948 in Waterloo. He was a member of Payne AME Church and had been employed at the Rath Packing Co. for the past 19 years.

Survivors include His wife; a son, James of New York City, N. Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Bell of 625 Ankeny St.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sharon Holman of Chicago, Ill.; his father of Chicago; and a stepson, Samuel Turner of Detroit, Mich.

He was preceded in death by, his mother and his first wife.

The Rev. Leonard Williams, pastor, will officiate at the church services. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at Chapel of Memories East.
