CEDAR FALLS - Florence June Parker, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at the Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living Center.

She was born Jan. 31, 1914, in Waterloo, daughter of Ora I. And Ethel V. Minard Parker.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1932 and Gates Business College in 1937.

She moved to Davenport in September 1940 when she accepted a civil service appointment to work for the federal government at the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Ill. She retired as a cost accountant in 1973, and moved back to Waterloo in 1978.

She was active in many organizations, serving as regent of the Waterloo Daughters of the American Revolution, secretary of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, state secretary of the DUV, secretary of Retired Federal Employees and secretary/treasurer of her church circle.

Survived by a niece, Jan (Dick) Jensen of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Harold O. Parker, in 2001; and a nephew, Craig D. Parker.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
