WATERLOO - Lydia Miriam Neessen, 92, of Waterloo, died Monday, Nov. 7, at Friendship Village Health Center of natural causes.

She was born May 2, 1913, in Grundy County, daughter of Dirk D. and Gertie Kruse Harberts. She married James T. Neessen on Dec. 29, 1933, in Grundy Center. He died Nov. 29, 1988.

Mrs. Neessen was a receptionist for Dr. Roland Millers office in the Blacks Building for a number of years.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois (Laurence) Nanke of Waterloo; a son, Jim (Carol) of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, LuDean Adler; a sister, LuElla Green; and a brother, Edwin Harberts.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Waterloo First Presbyterian Church, with burial at 2 p.m. in Colfax Cemetery, Grundy County. Friends may call from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home.
