WATERLOO - Margarete Helen "Peggy" Vance, 84, of Waterloo, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home following a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Osage, daughter of Lynn J. and Selma Thorson Foster. She married Dallas W. Baker May 20, 1939, and they were later divorced.

She was a homemaker.

Survived by a son, Taylor D. (Martha) Baker of Waterloo; a daughter, Mardell Baker of Bandon, Ore.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Douglas Baker; a daughter, Charlotte Hunt; an infant daughter, Lucinda Baker; a brother, Robert Foster; and a sister, Iris Foster Fulton.

Graveside services with inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. The family will receive friends following services at the Odd Fellows Hall, Cedar Falls. Her body was cremated.
