WATERLOO - Richard J. "Dick" Jordan, 83, of Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of 2905 Roland Ave., died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005 at Ravenwood.

He was born Aug. 22, 1922, in McIntire, son of John M. and Maude S. Campbell Jordan. He married Betty Ann Pauley Nov. 16, 1940, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Jordan worked for Dietsch Construction (Cedar Valley Construction), John G. Miller, Dale Clark Construction (Prairie Construction), and the city of Waterloo as a construction superintendent for 50 years, retiring in 1990.

Survived by his wife; two sons, David (Lori) of Kaiser, Mo., and Marc (Kathy) of Nisswa, Minn.; two daughters, Colleen Kay (Larry) Kress and Debby J. (Mike) Conley, both of Waterloo; a brother, Mark of Nogales, Ariz.; a sister, Beatrice (Vern) Browne of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Bill (Charlyne) Pauley of Waterloo; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Duane) Ellis of Bolton, Miss., Scott (Cindy) Buck and Debbie (Jason) Halverson, both of Waterloo, Tina (Matthew) Lentsch of Farmington, Minn., Sean Jordan of Kaiser, Heather (Eric) Lukes of Stewartville, Minn., Missy Conley of Chandler, Ariz., Luke (Cindy) Jordan of Pequot Lakes, Minn., and Dave Jordan of Breezy Point, Minn.; four stepgrandchildren, Patrick (Lisa) Kress of Cedar Rapids, Maureen Kress of Waterloo, Laura Kress of Houston, Texas, and Ellen Kress of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Florence Dotter, Joyce Jordan and Lucille Jordan; and a grandson, Joey Jordan.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
