WATERLOO - Wayne F. Campbell, 75, of Swisher, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of melanoma.

He was born July 9, 1930, in Marshalltown, son of Franklin and Lillian Webert Campbell. He married Ilene Gordon June 15, 1953, and she died Nov. 10, 1986. He then married Mary Berlin Nelson March 7, 1992, in Cedar Rapids.

A Waterloo West High School graduate, he was a 20-year Navy SEABEE veteran. Mr. Campbell worked in sales for AT&T, retiring in 1987 after 35 years of service.

Survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Michael (Darcy) of Carson City, Nev.; a daughter, Lynn (Bobbie) Salazar of Hope Mills, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Shari (Todd) Lewison, Lisa (Doug) Johnson and Kristin (Tom) Angellotti, all of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Brekke of Flower Mound, Texas; and four sisters-in-law, Sally Schmid of Cedar Rapids, Sharon Bullis of DeLand, Fla., Geri Shaw of Glendale, Calif., and Elsie Youngstrom of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Ilene; and a brother, Clair.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, with burial and military honors at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Society or First Lutheran Church.
