WATERLOO - Ruth E. Goins, 80, of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, of ALS.

She was born April 30, 1934, in Corwith, daughter of Arch C. and Beulah Crow Bunting. She married Richard A. Goins on Sept. 12, 1953; he died Jan. 8, 2000.

A 1952 graduate of Jesup High School, Jesup, Ruth was a secretary to several executives at Weyerhaeuser Paper Co., retiring in 1994 after 30 years. She was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Survived by four sisters, Margaret Opfer and Mary (Ted) Moody, both of El Cajon, Calif., Helen Gjovig of Coralville and Carol (Don) Elson of Waterloo; a brother, Donald (Reva) Bunting of Ames; two sisters-in-law, Glenola Bunting of Jesup and Justene Bunting of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Gordon (Wanda) Goins of Independence; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles, Robert, Harold and Marlyn Bunting; and two sisters, Camille Gjovig and Katherine LaPole.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Rowley Cemetery, Rowley. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home.
