WATERLOO - Patricia A. Shannon, 78, of Waterloo, died at home Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014.

She was born Nov. 13, 1935, in Janesville, daughter of Kenneth and Gena Olsen Crowley. She married Kenneth Shannon on Nov. 31, 1962, in Reno, Nev. He died Dec. 9, 1985.

Pat was employed with the Waterloo Community School District for many years until retirement. Following her retirement she delivered newspapers for the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier. She was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

Survived by a daughter, Christine Shannon of Everett, Wash.; twin granddaughters, Isis and Lulu Pray; and a sister, Shirley (Ed) Aukes of Allison.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Rinnels and Sharon Arends.

Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Inurnment will be later in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday.
