WATERLOO - Genevieve Margaret Adkisson, 95, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at Denver Hospice, Denver, Colo.

She was born April 21, 1919, in Fairbank, daughter of Charles Matthew and Mary Ann Peters. She married LuVerne Adkisson on Feb. 10, 1948, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death.

Genevieve was employed by the U.S. War Department Defense Supply Agency as a government inspector from November 1943 to June 1946. After the war, Genevieve was a beautician and homemaker in Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Gary (Paula) of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Janice (Tom) Davis of Littleton, Colo., and Jonelle Adkisson of Centennial, Colo.; five grandchildren, Matt (Leia) and Kevin Adkisson, Elizabeth and Hillary Davis and Isabel Adkisson; and a brother, Edward Peters of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Gene; her parents; three brothers, Bernard, Clifford and Richard; and two sisters, Marie and Rita.

Services for both Genevieve and LuVerne will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Chapel in the Pines at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colo.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Denver Hospice.
