WATERLOO - Elaine L. Foley, 84, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at La Porte City Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Waconia, Minn., daughter of Herbert Sr. and Melinda Graf Sauter. She married George M. Foley at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Minneapolis on Dec. 18, 1948.

She graduated from Waconia High School in 1948. Elaine worked at Sears Roebuck on Lake Street for a short time and then was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, dedicated and longtime member of PEO, volunteered with Girl Scouts and was secretary for CCD for several years.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Kevin (Catherine) of Coralville and Michael (Elaine) of Westerville, Ohio; a daughter, Mary Marienau of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Alaina Severino, Andrew Marienau, Emily Marienau, Ryan Foley, Renae Foley and Mykala Tassin Delesdernier; two great-grandchildren, Aspen and Sophia; four brothers, Frank, Douglas and Richard Sauter and William Cooley.

Preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Kathleen Foley; three brothers, Clarence, James and Herbert Jr. Sauter; and three sisters, Gladys Baert, Betty Jane Cooley and Shirley Anderson.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with a 6:45 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Columbus High School.
