CEDAR FALLS - Vida S. Ebener, 101, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, and Dodge City, Kan., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Windhaven Assisted Living Center of Western Home Communities of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 2, 1913, in Washington, Iowa, daughter of Walter and Addie Stewart. She married Arthur Ebener on Oct. 29, 1950, in Indiana. He died Nov. 25, 1987.

She graduated from high school in Jasper, Mo., and later attended Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill. Vida served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with WAVES. Later, she taught country school in Missouri, was a secretary at Lockheed Aviation, and had been a beautician. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, PEO, Dodge City Music Club, and Sunday school teacher in Dodge City.

Survived by her 14 nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo. Entombment at the Mount Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum in Waterloo has already taken place. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until services Friday at the church. Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Dike United Methodist Church or PEO.
