WATERLOO - Esther S. Robinson, 89, of Apple Valley Assisted Living, Clear Lake, formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, died Nov. 1, 2005, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City of natural causes.

She was born March 6, 1916, in Lebanon, Pa., daughter of Antonius and Olga (Madsen) Jensen. She was raised in the Lutheran church where she met her husband, Keith. They were married June 16, 1934, in Mason City. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1999. Prior to Keith's death they were able to enjoy making their home at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

Mrs. Robinson was employed at Platt's Nursery and Garden Shop for more than 20 years before she retired. Her overwhelming interests were loving her husband and her children: Jerry Robinson of Fiji Islands, Meri Jo (Pete) Earwicker of Bend, Ore., and Travis "Jim" (Gail) Robinson of Clear Lake. She found great joy in cooking, baking, knitting, needle work, gardening, caring for others, and she also taught her children and grandchildren to enjoy creative activities. Her relationship with Jesus was ever abiding. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Falls for many years.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by, besides her children, her sister, Elizabeth A. (Jensen) Helgren; her brothers-in-law, Jack Helgren and Bud (Joan) Cerney of Mason City; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Flynn of Euclid, Ohio, and Lola Robinson of Omaha, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews. She was rewarded with 10 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith Robinson; her mother, Olga (Madsen) Jensen; her father, Antonius Jensen; stepmother, Elenora Jensen; sisters, baby sister Elenora, Marie and Elenor Jensen; brothers, Emanuel and Tage Jensen; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Asfahl and Hope Folkama; and brother-in-law, Dick Robinson.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call for an hour before services Friday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to Apple Valley Assisted Living, 405 27th St. Ave. S., Clear Lake; Cedar Falls Lutheran Home or the Salvation Army.
