WATERLOO - Aaron Lee Abernathy, 65, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born June 23, 1941, in Vinton, son of Melvin L. and Edith Cue Abernathy. He married Suzanne Gintner Oct. 11, 1975, in Nashua.

Mr. Abernathy was employed at John Deere & Company Foundry for 23 years, retiring in June 2001.

Survived by his wife; three sons, James (Tammie) of Goodwin, Mo., Richard (Christine) of Locust Grove, Ga., and Michael (Kelly) of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; a daughter, Erin Lea (John) Schiavo of Norwood, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Corwin of Scarborough, Maine; and a sister, Beverly (Charles) Daws of Hiawatha.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Parish, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball. The casket will be closed at the parish. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and V.F.W. Post 1623.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
