WASHBURN - Elmer Junior Saulsbury, 62, of 7040 La Porte Rd., Washburn, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, cause of death pending autopsy.

He was born Dec. 26, 1943, in Illiopolis, Ill., son of Elmer and Mabel Clayton Saulsbury. He married Eva Schaedle July 11, 1966, in Illiopolis, and they were later divorced.

He graduated from Illiopolis High School in 1962. He worked at Iowa Custom Machine as a journeyman machinist, and also at Pauline Co. as a supervisor for highway construction. He retired in 1996. He also was a master carpenter and served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by three sons, Pete (Rose) of Pittsboro, N.C., Kevin (Kris) of Cedar Rapids and Tyler (Ruth) of Cedar Falls; his significant other, Bonnie Seenster of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Dusty, Cory and Kyle Saulsbury; three brothers, Owen (Alma) of Taylorville, Ill., Larry (Diane) of Illiopolis and Jim (Rose) of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Mary (Wayne) Riech and Sarah (Frank) Moore, both of Springfield; a brother-in-law, Harry Bullock of Illiopolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Lee and Donald Saulsbury; and a sister, Lucille Bullock.

Services: 10:30 Friday at Faith Assembly of God Church, Elk Run Heights, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Illiopolis. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Friday at the church. There also will be visitation for an hour at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Illiopolis, preceding burial at 2 p.m. Saturday.
