WATERLOO - Alice P. Petersen, 95, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Sept. 22, 2014.

She was born Nov. 2, 1918. She married Howard Petersen; he preceded her in death in 2002.

She graduated from Hudson Consolidated High School in 1935, and from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in 1939 with a bachelor 's degree in business education. She taught school in Whittemore and Center Point, and worked in Washington D.C. for the War Production Board during World War II. Later she worked in CPA offices in Los Angeles and Waterloo. She retired in 1980 from the offices of the Natural Silo Association.

Survived by two sons, Lyle of Waterloo and Glen (Marcia) of West Okoboji; two granddaughters, Emily Petersen (friend Kevin Foor) of Coralville and Rebecca (A. G.) Wilson of Minneapolis; a great-grandson, Aiven Wilson of Minneapolis; and two sisters, Ruth Iseminger of St. George, Utah, and Neva Johansen of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a son, Dennis; two brothers; and two sisters.

Memorial services are pending. Per Alice’s wishes her body has been cremated.
