Fred J. Marston, 70, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at his home, 1900 Forest Avenue, of a heart attack.

He was born Jan. 8, 1876, in Black Hawk Township in Black Hawk County, the son of Charles E. and Jane Bennett Marston. He farmed for 65 years in Black Hawk Township and came to Waterloo five years ago when he retired. For the past three years he had been employed as a watchman at the Viking-Pump Iron division, 1312 Waterloo Road.

He married Maude Dierdorff in Black Hawk Township on Jan. 7, 1902, and had attended Maple Grove School and the Iowa State Teachers College. Cedar Falls.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hoerman, Clarksville, Ia.; two grandsons, James and Verne Hoerman, Clarksville, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Faulkner, Hudson, Ia., and Mrs. Belle Toepfer, Solomon, Kan.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services have been set for 2 p. m. Thursday at the Kistner Funeral Home. Burial, will be in Orange Township. Complete arrangements later will be announced.

Funeral services for Fred J. Marston, who died Sunday in his home at 1900 Forest Avenue of a heart attack, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Kistner Funeral Home by Rev. H. E. Buss. Route 2, Cedar Falls, former pastor of the United Brethren Church at Hudson, Ia. Burial will be in Orange Township Cemetery. A sister, Mrs. Belle Teopfer. of Solomon, Kan., arrived here Wednesday morning to attend the services.
