WATERLOO - Hazel C. Nordman, 97, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of 124 Hanna Blvd., died Wednesday, May 10, 2009, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 2, 1908, in Waterloo, daughter of William and Anna Luetje Kuehnle. She married Wilbur F. Nordman on Aug. 16, 1939, in Olathe, Kan. He died Aug. 28, 1993.

Mrs. Nordman graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1927. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and Hinson Manufacturing until quitting to raise her children.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Kathleen) of Urbandale and Ronald (Phyllis) of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Todd, Chad, Jason, Heather and Dusty; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys, Anna and Evelyn.

There will be no visitation or services, her body will be cremated, with inurnment later in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.
