Anna Mae Grady, 80, of Friendship Village, died Friday, January 2, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Anna Mae was born December 19, 1923 in Waterloo, the daughter of Lewis and Bernice (Collins) Deits. She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from West High School in 1941.

She married Ralph H. Grady September 21, 1942 in Waterloo and together they farmed in Orange Township until moving to town in 1980. She was proud of her charter membership at Grace Brethren Church, faithful in service, and diligent in prayer - praying for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren daily and by name. Over the years, she was active in W.M.C., daily vacation Bible School, and taught primary Sunday School classes.

Anna Mae and Ralph began a church in the retirement park where they resided in Florida; where she was the pianist from its beginning in 1980. She enjoyed assisting Ralph in the entire ministry of that church. She was also involved in various Waterloo community organizations and clubs.

Survived by her husband Ralph; four children, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren - daughter Donna Mae (Tom) Miller of Winona Lake, IN, children Annette (Joseph) Coenen, Tami and Amy Miller; son Tom (Jane) Grady of Alpharetta, GA, children Janet (Randy) Darden, Jenny (Michael) Barker, Toby (Katie) Grady, Jamie Grady; son Jim (Jeanette) Grady of Waterloo and children Stephanie Grady and Matthew (Athena) Grady; daughter Betty Anne (Kyle) Bergen of Dallas, GA, children Ben Bergen, Elizabeth (Jason) Flowers, Katie and Charlie Bergen. Also sisters Mary Lou (Paul) Saunders of Mountain Home, AR and Lola (Leonard) Rousselow of LaPorte City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Iva Belle Kepple.
