EVANSDALE - Beatrice E. Thompson, 91, of Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Falls, formerly of Evansdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at the center.

She was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Eagle Center, daughter of John and Josephine Siebel Bedard. She married Collis Thompson. He died in 1947.

Mrs. Thompson was employed with Hinson Manufacturing for many years, retiring due to an injury.

Survived by two granddaughters, Deb Kerr of Waterloo and Kristal Picken of Elk Run Heights; a stepgranddaughter, Sharon (Gil) Taylor of Waterloo; a stepgrandson, Philip Picken of Waterloo; two great-granddaughters, Kayla and Emily Kerr; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Picken; five sisters, Mary, Alfreda, Kathleen, Leona and Melinda; and a brother, Joseph.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Eagle Center. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
