Edythe J. Langdale, 83, of 225 W. Ridgeway, died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

She was born on June 26, 1921 in Amburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Adler) Foss. She was raised by the family of Albert and Anna Diers.

Edythe married Melvin Langdale on October 11, 1940 in Missouri. He died in 1975.

She worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing from 1952, until retiring in 1983. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over fifteen years. Her hobbies included composing poetry and quilting.

Survived by her four daughters, Carol Reise of Winlock, WA: Melva Eddington and her husband Brian, of Castle Rock, CO: Karen Heineman and her husband Ron, of Brighton, IA: and Patty McDowell and her husband Randy, of Fairfield, IA; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Buster Hesseltine of Washington, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Doris Glasscock; sister, Eva Hesseltine; and brothers, Marvin Foss and Earl Foss.
