EVANSDALE - Roger W. Yordy Sr., 70, of Evansdale, died at home Tuesday, June 9, 2009, of cancer.

He was born July 20, 1938, in Marshalltown, son of Dan Sr. and Marjorie Willits Yordy. He married Ginny Larson and they later divorced. He married Betty Burr and they later divorced. He married Patricia Flick on Sept. 21, 1974, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Yordy attended Whitten Consolidated School, Whitten. He worked as a radial drill operator for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 32 years and was a member of UAW Local 838 and of the Waterloo Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survived by his wife; three daughters; Michelle (Ali Al-Mansoori) Yordy of Saudi Arabia, Kay (Randy) Davison of Eldora and Jackie Williams of Morrilton, Ark.; two sons, Roger Jr. (Kim) of Odessa, Minn., and David (Mitzi) of Moline, Ill.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his father of Marshalltown; two sisters, Lynda (Royce) VanCleave of Marshalltown and Anne (Chet) Olszewski of Myrtle Beach, N.C.; a brother, Dan Jr. (Chris) of Las Vegas; and his dog, Heather Yordy of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by his mother.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, with graveside services at 12:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
