Scott David Sage, born on Dec. 3, 1962, in Waterloo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 29, 2006. Scott was a gentle man of humility, with a quiet, sensitive heart and the gift to put his feeling into music. He started playing the piano at the age of five. As a young teen, he became church pianist at Calvary Baptist Church in Volga. By 1977, at the age of 16, he was teaching others to play the piano. Scott won a number of state and national competitions during his high school years for his piano performances and compositions.

After his graduation from Wadena Christian Academy in Wadena, he studied music at Northwestern University, Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, and the University of Northern Iowa. In 1990, Scott started Sage Music Company. A year later, he moved to Texas where he served as professor of music at The International Institute in Lewisville. In 1992, he composed, arranged and orchestrated the entire musical score for the Christian film "Wings of the Morning." Throughout his life, Scott continued to compose music, inspired greatly by his travels abroad. He always found time to share his talent with others, blessing audiences with his gift of music. In addition to his music, Scott had an avid interest in natural medicine. He became a certified bio-energetic technician in 2003 and was studying toward his Naturopathic degree.
