Judy Mayes, 88, of 231 Miriam Drive, Waterloo, died on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center from complications of Alzheimer's.

She was born on May 29, 1916, the daughter of John and Emmile (Schellenberg) Bicknell. She married Raymond Mayes on June 9, 1940 in North Platte, Nebraska. He died August 21, 1997.

Judy graduated from the University of Nebraska and taught kindergarten prior to her marriage. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Past President of T.T.T. in Waterloo, Waterloo Council of Church Women, and the Council of Church Women at Central Christian Church.

Judy is survived by her son, Jerry Mayes of Waterloo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Elizabeth.
