Lawton G. Lockey, 90, of 824 Meadow Lane, died on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born on December 14, 1913 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Richard and Esther (Goodell) Lockey. He graduated from West High School in 1931 and attended Platville Teacher’s College in Wisconsin.

Lawton married Madeline Hoofnagle on May 28, 1939 in Waterloo, Iowa. He owned and operated the Benson Butter Company from 1950, until retiring in 1981. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball. He also loved the outdoors, where he could garden, camp, and fish. Lawton was a very family oriented man and had a strong faith.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline; son, Doug Lockey and his wife Molly, of Rochester, MN.; two granddaughters, Megan Mikkalson and her husband Matt, of Eagle Lake, MN. and their daughter Madelyn: Brie Wiltsie and her husband Ben, of Minneapolis, MN; and two sisters, Evonne Bee, of Tucson, AZ. and Darlis Stoyanoff, of Tucson, AZ.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Kresser; three brothers, Durward, Cloyce, and Wendell; and one sister, Mardean Poyner.
