WATERLOO - Lyla D. Quick, 71, of Brownsville, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, Sept 2, 2014.

She was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Harlan, daughter of Lyle and Lela Ford Boham. She married Thomas G. Quick in Galena, Ill., on Jan. 12, 1970; he died March 29, 2008.

Lyla graduated from Cedar Falls High School, Cedar Falls. She was a professional beautician working in the Waterloo area for many years.

Survived by a brother-in-law, Sam (Judy) Quick of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Quick of Waterloo; a nephew, Aaron Quick (Peggy) of Weldon Springs, Mo.; and two nieces, Lisa (Mike) Archibald of New York City and Angel (Bill) Finney of Burlington, Ky.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation as per her wishes will be observed with private family gathering.

Memorials may be donated to the Sullivan Brother Museum in Waterloo or veterans group of donor's choice.
