CEDAR FALLS - Marlys J. Wyatt Bohnstengel Johnson, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born May 23, 1931, in Hudson, daughter of Charles and Elsie Fabian Wyatt. She married Eldon Bohnstengel in April 17, 1949. He died Oct. 30, 1978. She married Berwyn Johnson on May 30, 1981, at Ripley Congregational Church in Traer.

She graduated from Hudson High School in 1949 and farmed with her first husband. She was a member of Ripley Congregational Church, where she had served as a deacon.

Survived by three daughters, Linda (Thomas) Kusmerz of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., Julie (Sean) Hurt of Lewisville, Texas, and Amy (Greg Proctor) Johnson of Traer; three sons, Lloyd (Jonie) Bohnstengel of Colleyville, Texas, James Bohnstengel of Faribault, Minn., and Lewis (Kimberly) Johnson of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren, Julie (Sean) Joyce, Thomas (Danelle) Kusmerz, Jason Bohnstengel, Jennifer (Dustin) Wagner, Adam (Jerica) Bohnstengel, Allen (Ashley) Bohnstengel, David Bohnstengel, Matthew Satterlee, Brian (Kristen) Satterlee, and Alaina Jantzen; 12 great-grandchildren, Colin and Camryn Joyce, Jack, Paige and Kate Kusmerz, Alyssa Bohnstengel, Elizabeth and Michelle Wagner, Samson, Aleksander and Sofia Bohnstengel and Tucker Satterlee; a sister, Betha Pecenka; two sisters-in-law, Gretchen Johnson and Arlene Posusta; a brother-in-law, Dick Adams; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Bixby and Helene Machetta; and two brothers, Edward O. and Burnace Wyatt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ripley United Church of Christ, Traer, followed by a luncheon, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Friends of the Western Home, American Cancer Society, or Cedar Valley Cancer Center patient fund.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, cookbooks, and her sewing and card clubs.
