Howard W. Koger, 68, of Denver, IA; formerly of Waterloo, died on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born on June 24, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of James G. and Margaret (Bennett) Koger. He married Barbara Otterman in 1960, in Waterloo. They were later divorced. He married Sharon Amundson in 1974, in Waterloo. They were later divorced.

Howard worked for the Illinois Central and Chicago Central Railroads, retiring in 1988. He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by a son, James (Cindy) Koger of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Teresa (John) Lundak of Waterloo; a son, Steven James (Kendra) Koger of Waterloo; a son, Cory Allen Koger of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Koger of Arizona.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald and Richard; sister, Mildred B. Koger; and special friend, Evelyn Klenski.
