CEDAR FALLS - Earl W. Rogers, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

He was born Dec. 2, 1931, in Waterloo, son of Vernie and Hazel Rogers Rogers. On Dec. 23, 1951, he married Joan Hull in Cedar Falls.

Earl graduated from Cedar Falls High School, attended Iowa State Teachers College, and served with the U.S. Army in England. He worked in various jobs for Rath Packing Co.; was a case worker for the Iowa State Extension Service, and also was a rural mail carrier for the Cedar Falls Post Office, retiring in 2006.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Kirkpatrick of Cedar Falls, and Vicky (John) Nolan of Mason City; a son, Randy (Deb) of Stillwater, Minn.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Hoeweller of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; and two sisters, Jean Hill and Lola Van Heuvelen.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Prairie Lakes Church, Cedar Falls, with burial and military hones by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Thursday.
