Johnny Dean Brandt, 66, of Waverly, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born April 10, 1941, in Waterloo, son of George and Ann True Brandt. On Nov. 29, 1980, he married Ona Mae Johnson at Grace Baptist Church in Waverly.

Mr. Brandt graduated from Waterloo West High School, then began his career at Schield Bantam (Terex), Waverly, retiring in 2003 after 36 years. He was a charter member of AMVETS.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David of Waverly; a daughter, Jennifer Brandt (Darrin Kressley) of Waterloo; a brother, Dody of Waterloo; a sister, Maudia Coldiron of Norfolk, Neb.; a brother-in-law, Ivan (Dearetta) Johnson of Ionia; and two sisters-in-law, Patty (Gary) Schatzberg and Karen (Doug) Boelman, both of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Ann Brandt; four sisters, Attah Mae Schneider, Margery Damme, Bernice Gerdis and Hazel Zondrazek; and a brother, Vernalt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.
