WATERLOO - James David Selesky, 82, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Detroit, son of Alex and May Baty Selesky. He married Patricia Carr in Evansdale; she died in 1998.

James served in the U.S. Air Force and was employed as a tool maker with John Deere for 32 years, retiring in 1987.

Survived by three sons, Joe (Marisa) and Paul, both of Waterloo, and Roger (Dawn) of Ankeny; a daughter, Dawn (Todd) Anderson of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren, Jayme and Joshua Anderson, Trent Selesky, Heather and David Selesky, Alex and Paige Selesky, Nicholas Delagardelle, Kursten (Derek McBroom) Reuter, Holly (Greg) Engelkes, Jamie Tucker and Dana Tucker; and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Thompson of Michigan and Marge Michaelis of Texas.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Zegarac; a brother, John Selesky; and three sisters, Agnes Post, Elizabeth Visnaw and Carol Low.

Services: Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
