WATERLOO - Harry V. Lichty, 98, of Friendship Village Retirement Center, died there Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014.

He was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Black Hawk County, son of Harve and Della Wagoner Lichty. He married Frances Alpha McMickle on April 18, 1936, in Carthage, Ill.; she died Oct. 21, 2006.

Harry farmed in Eagle Township until 1968 and also worked at John Deere Waterloo Works for 26 years, retiring as an inspector in 1976. He was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren and was a former member and board member of Isaac Walton League.

Survived by a son, Kenneth (JoAnn) of Waterloo; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Garold, Buel "Bud" and Lynn; two sisters, Melva in infancy and Marie Miller; and a granddaughter, Wendy Ann Lichty.

Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Locke Funeral Home, preceded by burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Locke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
