Charles C. Christiansen, 76, of Dike, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 8, 1937, in Cedar Falls, son of Herbert and Eleanor Brandhorst Christiansen. He married Erma Andreessen on June 26, 1956, at Stout Reformed Church, Stout.

Charles farmed in the Dike area, drove a school bus for the Dike-New Hartford School District and later worked at the Dike Lumber Yard.

Survived by his wife; a son, Douglas of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Denise (Tim) Nagel of Clarion, Cheryl (Joseph) Kremer of Arlington and Carla (Dan) Johnson of Nevada; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Stout Cemetery, Stout. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
