CEDAR FALLS - Kathryn Gensch, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Bickford Senior Living of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Clinton, daughter of Thomas and Josephine Pappas Kavadas. She married Roy Gensch on May 28, 1983, in Sun City, Calif.; he died Sept. 29, 2012.

Kathryn graduated from Clinton High School, and had worked at Master Lock Co., Milwaukee, for 30 years, retiring in 2001.

Survived by three daughters, Debbie Steinbron of Cedar Falls, Renee Bridges of Hickory, N.C., and Lori VanValkenburg of Waterloo; a stepson, Richard Gensch of Montana; two stepdaughters, Marilee Bass of Wisconsin and Theresa (Doug) Layne of California; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan (Carol) Kavadas of Des Moines and Tom (Vivian) Kavadas of Clinton; and two sisters, Bernice Goddard and Georgia (Bob) Knutson, both of Clinton.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, with inurnment in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service in the Community Room at the funeral home.
