Funeral services are pending at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home for Howard Daniel Kindig, 86, who died at the Allen Memorial Convalescent Home at 6:45 a.m. Friday.

Mr. Kindig had been a patient at the home for about four and one-half years. Previous to that, he had made his home with a daughter, Fern Kindig, 408½ Thompson St.

He was born Oct. 19, 1873, in Summerset County, Pa. He married Nettie Conard on Thanksgiving Day in 1902 in Waterloo. He was a cigar maker in Waterloo and also was employed by Litchfield's until his retirement.

Mr. Kindig was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Moose Lodge, and the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include two sons, Paul E., of Cedar Rapids, and Frank, of Saginaw. Mich.; and
two daughters, Mrs. William Van Sanford, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Fern Kindig, of 408½ Thompson St.

He was preceded by his parents, his wife, and one daughter in infancy.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Parrot and Wood Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. H. E. Dierenfield, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church for Howard D. Kindig, 86 who died at Allen Memorial Convalescent Home Friday. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
