WATERLOO - Melvin "Red" Fluhr, 52, of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, July 29, 2014 of liver cancer.

He was born Sept. 6, 1961, in Dubuque, son of Eugene and Patricia Miller Fluhr. He married Melissa Meinders on Aug. 20, 2011.

Red was a welder at Samson Fabrication.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Felicia Fluhr; a son, Mitch; two stepsons, Marshall and Tyler Hippen; a stepdaughter, Sarah Hippen; a grandson expected in September; his parents; two brothers, Donnie and Jeff Fluhr; and a sister, Janney Heasley.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Todd and Ronnie.

Memorial services: Aug. 11. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Locke Funeral Home, followed by cremation.
